Removals to Amsterdam

Amsterdam is constantly ranked as one of the best cities in the world to live in. That's because it's unique and diverse with cosy small-town vibes, a beautiful historic city centre, and plenty of opportunities for leisure and employment, among other things. Most Dutch people speak English, making communication easy.

There are many expatriate jobs in Amsterdam. Tourism is, obviously, a massive industry in this city, offering plenty of jobs for ex-pats and locals alike. Other significant sectors with plenty of job opportunities include healthcare, IT, insurance, and banking. Amsterdam is home to several huge international corporations that are also some of the city's biggest employers. This includes Nike, Adidas, ING Group, Royal Dutch Shell, Heineken, Philips, Cisco Systems, Tesla, etc. This means that English-speaking educated ex-pats have a good chance of finding work in Amsterdam.

Like other big cities, Amsterdam is broken down into neighbourhoods, each with its unique characteristics. Popular areas to consider living in are Centrum, which is at the heart of the Dutch action but comes at a real premium, and De Pijp –a true cultural melting pot and home to Amsterdam's largest open-air market. Oud-West and Oud Zuid are city centres that still let you enjoy nature while being more affordable than the Centrum. Before moving to Amsterdam, keep in mind that property prices are higher here than elsewhere in the Netherlands.

The city of Amsterdam is pretty small and walkable, especially if you live close to the city centre. But it also has an extensive and reliable public transport system with trams, trains, ferries, buses, and an excellent Metro system. Most visitors buy short-term disposable cards, although the OV-chipkaart is best suited for those living here; it functions much like London's Oyster Card. A better alternative is to get a bike; it's the fastest and most efficient way to get around in Amsterdam and virtually everyone cycles.

As for things to do and see during your free time, you'll be spoilt for choice. Amsterdam has the largest concentration of monuments in the whole country. The many museums contain some of the best-ever created and most celebrated artworks. You'll also find lots of cafes and restaurants for the best local cuisines, without forgetting bars and nightclubs for impressive nightlife.

Removals to The Hague

Moving to The Hague, Netherlands, is attractive for several reasons. It has a vibrant mix of foreigners from all over the world, a low cost of living compared to other major Dutch cities like Amsterdam, all the necessary infrastructure and facilities to welcome expatriates, and most people speak English. You'll also find picturesque neighbourhoods, beautiful beaches, and plenty of opportunities for work and play.

As a major political centre of the Netherlands and the EU, government and corporate administration are the main types of employment in The Hague. The 'legal capital of the world' houses numerous international organizations and NGOs such as the International Criminal Court, Europol, The Permanent Court of Arbitration, and the International Court of Justice, thus opening up great job prospects in international law. While these organizations account for a significant share of the city's overall employment, technology, healthcare, and small businesses sectors also offer great job opportunities. The Hague is also home to hundreds of international corporations like Shell, Siemens, and Nationale Nederlanden that also offer jobs for ex-pats.

The Hague offers a wonderful variety of places to live to suit every lifestyle and budget. Expat families are drawn to neighbourhoods like Statenkwartier or Archipelbuurt because of their proximity to international schools. Other popular neighbourhoods to consider are Bezuidenhout, Chinatown, Belgisch Park, Kijkduin, Wassenaar, Archipelbuurt, and Marlot.

As far as transportation is concerned, this city has an excellent public transportation system with multiple tram lines, bus routes, and a subway connection to Rotterdam. While you can purchase short-term disposable cards, the OV-chipkaart is the best payment method for all public transportation. Just ensure it always has enough credit, much like how the London's Oyster Card works. Cycling is popular in the Netherlands, and The Hague is no exception. In fact, you can go to places faster and easier by bike than by car.

The Hague is known for its seaside atmosphere and beautiful beaches where you can go relax on your day off from work. Popular attractions you should definitely check out include the Binnenhof, Peace Palace, Panorama Mesdag, Japanese Garden at Clingendael, and Louwman Museum. You could also hike through Haagse Bos, see the seaside at Scheveningen and the Pier, and visit Escher in Het Paleis, among other things.

The best part is the cost of living in Rotterdam is relatively low compared to other major cities in the Netherlands like Amsterdam, The Hague, and Utrecht, thus allowing you a comfortable and luxurious standard of living.

You'll need an OV-chipkaart to pay for all public transportation. Ensure the card is preloaded with sufficient credits. Like most Dutch cities, there's plenty of cycling.

Utrecht offers a lot of things to see and experience while living there. There are nine museums located in and around the Museumkwartier. You'll also enjoy the two theatres in the city and various festivals throughout the year celebrating all forms of artistic expression. Removals to Eindhoven

Eindhoven is a lively, bustling modern city in the Netherlands with a growing community of foreigners from the UK and other countries. With many inhabitants speaking English, there's no language barrier. A move to this city comes with high living standards and exciting opportunities for personal and professional development.

In terms of employment opportunities, Eindhoven is a major destination for highly skilled internationals. Since the economy is driven by the technology and electronics industry, job opportunities are available for ex-pats with expertise in these fields. In fact, some of the most valuable high-tech companies and global electronics giants have offices here. This includes ASML, NXP, Philips, DAF Trucks, IBM, Intel, and the High Tech Campus, all of whom are major employers in Eindhoven. This city is also a hub for design, housing the globally prestigious Design Academy that also offers plenty of job opportunities.

As with other Dutch cities, the housing market in Eindhoven is tight. There's a growing demand, shortage supply, and prices keep rising, so you'll need to act fast on this one. Eindhoven has several different neighbourhoods to suit every lifestyle and budget. The city centre is popular for people seeking apartment-style housing. But many expats choose to live in the villages surrounding this industrial city, where housing is more budget-friendly, larger, and with more green space. These surrounding villages include Nuenen, Veldhoven, Waalre, and twin towns of Son and Breugel.

Eindhoven may not have a tram or underground train system like other major Dutch cities. Still, it offers a comprehensive and efficient bus network that makes it easy to get around the entire city and even neighbouring destinations. Many commuters also choose to take advantage of the city's excellent network of bike lanes to cycle from one point to the next.

There are several fun activities to do over the weekend or during your free time thanks to the many parks, bicycle trails, swimming pools, and climbing walls scattered throughout the city. Popular tourist attractions include The Van Abbemuseum, Stadswandelpark or Genneper Park, PreHistorisch Dorp, DAF Museum, and St. Catherine's Church. Also, as the city of soccer club PSV Eindhoven, there is no way to miss out on the matches. Lastly, Eindhoven has a big party or event nearly every week, which can be quite enjoyable.

Removals to Groningen

Living in Groningen, which is situated in the northern part of the Netherlands, can be a rewarding experience. The city enjoys a bustling atmosphere, impressive architecture, stunning views, a powerful economy, and a safe community, but what's unique about it is its youthful population. In fact, it's widely known as a student city with more than 60% of the population under the age of 40.

Groningen has large and well-established universities, and they are the leading employers of internationals. It's also home to the largest gas field in Europe, with several gas companies like Gasunie and GasTerra offering plenty of jobs. With the University Medical Center Groningen, one of the largest hospitals in the Netherlands, the city also has job opportunities for expats in the medical field. The hospitality industry also has many job offers, especially for students looking for a side job. Other well-known employers in this city include the major publishing company Wolters-Noordhoof, the large sugar factory CSM Vierverlaten, and the large insurance company Menzis.

The housing market remains tight in Groningen like the rest of the Netherlands, but it's relatively low compared to other major Dutch cities like Amsterdam and The Hague. One-bedroom apartments average €758/month in the city centre. A three-bedroom apartment will go for around €1,258/month in the same area. Many people prefer to live within the city centre because of the proximity of everything the city offers, but housing costs can be very high. Popular neighbourhoods to consider are Korrewegwijk, Oosterport, Vinkhuizen, Selwerd, and Wijert.

The public transport system in Groningen is provided mainly by an efficient bus network. With numerous bus lines running through the city, there's always one available when you need it. When travelling with public transportation, you can either buy a ticket for each trip or use an OV Chipkaart (the cheaper option). Like every other Dutch city, cycling is still a viable means of transport in Groningen.

This city is known for its many festivals and has a series of museums, including the Groninger Museum, which art lovers will appreciate. There are also the usual sites you'd expect in any Dutch city, including colourful houses in Reitdiephaven, bicycle-lined streets, and canal boats. Other places you should visit include the Martinitower, Mr Mofongo's (a cocktail bar with robot arm), the DOT, De Drie Gezusters, Grand Hotel de Kromme Raake, and Hortus Haren.
